Enterprise and innovation- project examples


A selection of typical projects follows:


Somerset Farmers’ Markets direct – a feasibility study, business plan and funding application to support the development of a producer co-op owned and managed local delivery business.

Greater Nottingham Garden to Plate Business Plan — an initiative to develop a food sector network and pilot social enterprises which address food poverty and food education on allotments and derelict land in the city.

Riverside Community Market – business plan and feasibility study to set up a social enterprise for the community association in central Cardiff, to develop the market, community diet projects and new trading initiatives such as a mobile shop.

Local Food Distribution in Brecon - Report prepared for Glasu Leader+ Programme and the Brecon Beacons National Park Authority. This study aimed to identify the demand for locally produced food in the Brecon area, and the feasibility setting up a new distribution enterprise.

MOTO – a practical guide for MOTO, which described how they can source local produce for both their restaurants and retail areas in motorway service stations across the UK.

Tastes of Bedfordshire – project development and detailed action plan for a local sourcing project for tourist outlets and caterers.

NE Farmers’ Markets – a review of opportunities for collaboration between markets in the region and a business plan for the creation of an independent, owner controlled social enterprise.

Bigbarn – a review of core activities and business plan preparation for DEFRA funding.
